Sirromet wins Gold and Silver at international awards show

Queensland’s largest winery, Sirromet, has cemented its presence on the international wine scene, taking home nine Gold and Silver awards at the 2015 German International Wine Show and Austrian Wine Challenge.
The latest award haul brings Sirromet’s tally to more than 800 prestigious national and international awards since opening its doors 15 years ago.
Sirromet Chief Winemaker, Adam Chapman, credits the award win to the distinct
soil, climate and vine balance exclusive to the Granite Belt region.

Sirromet in Full Swing

Construction has begun on the state’s first Supa Golf course at Queensland’s largest winery, Sirromet. Open for play this November, the site will include a nine hole course spread over 80,000 square metres at picturesque Mount Cotton, just a short drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Supa Golf is a modified form of golf with oversized clubs and larger golf balls, designed to be easier to play than the traditional game.

Star Cellar Door Awards

Sirromet Wines Cellar Door has been named Star Cellar Door in Brisbane, in Gourmet Traveller WINE’s annual Cellar Door Awards.

Australia’s leading wine writers, including Mike Bennie, Peter Bourne, Tyson Stelzer, Peter Forrestal, David Brookes, Jeni Port and Ken Gargett, traversed the country to check in on every wine region and determine the star cellar doors, best small and large cellar doors, best tasting experiences and who serves the finest food in Australia’s diverse and evolving wine scene.

Cool Growing Season & High Elevation

Sirromet Wines began its 2015 vintage in early February,
with the first crush being Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit from their Granite Belt vineyards,
to be used for premium sparkling base. The following weeks saw the harvest of Verdelho,
Pinot Gris, Viognier and Chardonnay white varietals.
